Re: [OT] (floppy?? and win 95) two questions -> VMware
By the way we were able to get VMware running on a stock Debian kernel once
we figured out where the kernel header files really were. The only problem
now is that it only runs under root because it says user doesn't have write
permission or the path is wrong even though all the write permissions in
every related file are set and the path is definitely correct. Any
I didn't have to worry about where the kernel header files were, but
then I had compiled my own custom kernel so perhaps everything was where
VMWare expected it to be.
I run vmware as westk, and here are the permissions on my vmware
installation directory and all files/dir below:
drwxrwxr-x 6 westk westk 4096 Mar 4 12:54 vmware
I've installed my virtual machines elsewhere; here's the permissions for
my WinNT vm:
drwxr-xr-x 3 westk westk 4096 Apr 10 12:32 VMWareNT
Hopefully this might be of some help.
