XFree 4.0.1 modelines and a little masq'ing problem

i have a couple of problems:

1. i just installed XFree 4.0.1 from branden (phase2v4), so i can get the
dual-head matrox working ;-). it works _almost_ like a charm, cuz i can only
get 1024x768 and 1280x1024 _but_ no 1152x864 (i had that mode working with
the same hardware with xfree-3.3.6-10, so the hardware supports it). then i
get this on /var/log/XFree86.0.log:

(WW) MGA(0): Mode "1152x864" deleted (hsync out of range)
[...]
(WW) MGA(0): Mode "1152x864" deleted (no mode of this name)
					^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ this is weird.

i don't have any ModeLine entries in /etc/X11/XF86Config, is that the prob?
any more info i can give (i don't want to post the whole XF86Config)? any
ideas?

2. i have a machine running windows9x + Oulook97, than a masq'ing box
running potato, 2.2.17-pre6 + ipchains, masq'ing connections
(this is in costa rica, central america). then i have a server running
Exchange on NT, located in indonesia (so, 30+ hops from the client). the
thing is the client isn't able to find the server (can't fetch mail), but
the masq'ing machine (1 hop less, still 30+ hops from the server) can
retrieve mail from that server. the question is: is Outlook brain-dead? can
i change the TTL on the masq'ing, so the gateway won't drop the packets?
something else?

thanks,

Alberto.
