I have two 2GB disks (SCSI-2 narrow) and this is what 'df' reports: Filesystem 1k-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on /dev/sda8 1189183 632032 495712 56% / /dev/sda7 2029267 1694526 229834 88% /usr/src /dev/sdb5 2029267 1694526 229834 88% /usr /dev/sda5 1427 438 989 31% /bp The problem with that is, "/usr/src" is NOT a 1.9GB partition! Here is the contents of "/proc/partitions" major minor #blocks name 8 0 2097497 sda 8 1 1 sda1 8 5 10208 sda5 8 6 262128 sda6 8 7 595952 sda7 8 8 1228784 sda8 8 16 2098702 sdb 8 17 1 sdb1 8 21 2098144 sdb5 IIRC that is the correct disk layout. Why does 'df' report the wrong sizes? This is on an Alpha (AS200) running potato.
