I opted to install NTeX, rather than TeTeX, in my system, since it
comes with a more complete set of documentation.
NTeX includes a copy of Donald Knuth's 'The TeXbook', in TeX source
format. 'The TeXbook' is too big to print, and has some code in it to
prevent you from running TeX on it to do so... But if you learn how
to disable that code, you can TeX the book, and if you promise not to
kill trees, you can run `dvips` on it, and then turn it into a Virtual
Paper document, to view with DEC SRC's `Lectern` program.
NTeX has a Debian GNU/Linux compatible installer.
You can find links to NTeX and to Virtual Paper if you follow the URL
in my .sig, and look through the bookmarks file in my Public
directory. They are both right at the top of the bookmarks file.
