Well, someone replied that khoros had already been compiled
for Linux, and for shared libs, which brought down the size
from ~32Mb to ~6.5Mb.  So, I would recommend you have a look
at that build before you start on your own.

To answer your question, I think the answer is yes -- I think.
(part of the problem is that I don't know exactly what khoros is!)

One thing puzzled me -- the c.o.l.announce for khoros said that
it is only available to members of the khoros consortium -- yet
didn't mention any restriction on distribution.  Are they relying
on honesty?
