Steht in der Ausgabe von 'dmesg' evtl. ein genauerer Hinweise, warum der
mount nicht geklappt hat? Existiert
/home/mondo.scratch.20281/images/mindi-data-1.img noch? Falls ja, was
für eine Fehlermeldung erhältst Du bei einem

 mount -t ext2 -o loop /home/mondo.scratch.20281/images/mindi-data-1.img /mnt

?
