To achieve what? If I understand the bug report correctly, TexLive builds fine on armel with g++-4.4. The default compiler will switch eventually from 4.3 to 4.4 and our special case could be dropped after all. If we use the -fno-tree-ter variant, we would need to -- again -- special case armel. Btw, you patch was incomplete; submitting a fix now. Hauke
