Upgrading from sarge is clean except that language.dat.postinst-bak is
left over. Probably it shouldn't be created at all, and it should be
removed upon purge if it's there.
Upgrading from woody to sarge and on to sid leaves more cruft on the
system, maybe we should cater for that, too.
All tested with the current SVN
