Package: tetex-extra
Version: 2.0-1

The tetex-extra package installs the Blue Sky Computer Modern fonts,
but not the associated afm files. For example, it ships:

  /usr/share/texmf/fonts/type1/bluesky/cm/cmss17.pfb

But there is no afm for this font to be found. I figured that maybe
the information was contained in there somehow, but pf2afm generated an
afm which did not include kerning information. I was trying to use
freetype which requires an afm file for every pfb to get the kerning
table.

The canonical version of these fonts I found here:

  http://www.ams.org/tex/type1-fonts.html

Which includes the afm files. It seems that afm files do not exist
for many of the fonts in tetex-extra. I think that tetex-extra should
include them. This machine is using debian unstable.

  Thanks,
  -Billy

No reaction from the submitter for half a year, Closing.
Billy, we won't put the the afm-files into teTeX.
Again: Feel free to file a bug against the package wnpp to get the
fonts packaged if you're still interested in that. Just give it the
severity wishlist, tell what you would like to have done and why and
give the URL to download the afm-files.

  Hilmar
