You didn't send the answer to the bug report, this is why Hilmar could
not know. And I don't have any records left of your mail or my answer,
because I usually rely on the BTS as our archive, and didn't notice that
the bug was not in the Cc.

Coming back to the facts: Do you still have the mail you sent, and my
answer? Then please post them to the bug. If not, we're back at the
questions I originally had:

What I would like to know - if you happen to remember - is whether you
did actually see any dialog windows (the ones debconf usually shows), or
not at all. But most probably this isn't the real cause of the bug:

I tried to dig out the readable strings from the script, they were:

teTeX setup utility # the title of the dialog box
Could not find default config file for dvipdfm (config).

This must be caused by the failure of the following command:

test -f $dvipdfm_conf_dir/config || {
  exist_test -f "$TC_DFT_DVIPDFM_CFG" "default config file for dvipdfm (config)"

Which means that either the symbolic link

/usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config -> /etc/texmf/dvipdfm

or the file

/etc/texmf/dvipdfm/config

didn't exist.

Does that remind you of anything? Do you still have problems currently?
Do you think we can still find out something about the problems you had
then?

Regards, Frank
