Package: tetex-base
Version: 2.0.2-5.1
Severity: normal

Running dvips on a dvi file prepared using package txfonts, I received
the following message:

   dvips: ! Couldn't find header file tx8r.enc

According to the txfonts docs, tx8r.enc is the same as 8r.enc (in dir
texmf/dvips/psnfss/). I created a symbolic link from 8r.enc to
tx8r.enc and it took care of the problem. Informed Thomas Esser
(tetex maintainer) who responded:

>Please, report this bug to debian (after checking that this is not your
>fault). I don't think that the original teTeX suffers from this. My map
>files don't have a reference to tx8r.enc.
>
>Thomas

I don't know whether the problem is with debian, txfonts, or
dvips. Just thought someone ought to know.

Phil

There was no bug, just a conflict with an old local configuration
file.
