I don't get this error, and I don't have this link - it just uses
8r.enc. Could you please check that your installation is up-to-date and
correct - possibly by using the command
apt-get --reinstall install tetex-bin tetex-base
and trying again, after you've removed the link and ran texhash? If the
error is still there, please run dvips the following way:
dvips -d 70 tetest.dvi 2>&1 > dvips.log
and send us the resulting logfile?
