Strange. Is the file /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/base/omxcmex.fd really
missing? And, if yes, could you have a look at your copy of
tetex-base_...deb, whether it is in there? This can be easily done if
you have mc or some other filemanager installed. Just hit enter on the
deb, then go into CONTENTS and the filesystem hierarchy within that.
If the file is there on your machine (not just inside the deb), what are
its permissions?
