Turbo,I would highly recommend setting up netboot and netbooting the boot prom upgrade. Its fairly easy to do. I did it by setting up dhcpd and tftpd on another box and then booting the sparc box as follows.
ok boot net:dhcp,<tftp server IP>,<name of upgrade file>,<ip address to be assigned>
For example: ok boot net:dhcp,192.168.0.100,flash-upgrade,192.168.0.101
