Hi, I know this has been mentioned in the last few weeks, well I assume it was relating to this. Recently I noticed that /var/log/auth.log was growing rather quickly. On looking at this file I notice records which looks like this: Feb 15 17:47:03 hantu /sbin/getty[370]: /dev/tty5: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:03 hantu /sbin/getty[371]: /dev/tty6: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:11 hantu /sbin/getty[372]: /dev/tty1: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:12 hantu /sbin/getty[373]: /dev/tty2: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:12 hantu /sbin/getty[374]: /dev/tty3: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:12 hantu /sbin/getty[375]: /dev/tty4: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:13 hantu /sbin/getty[376]: /dev/tty5: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:13 hantu /sbin/getty[377]: /dev/tty6: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:21 hantu /sbin/getty[378]: /dev/tty1: cannot open as standard input: No such device Feb 15 17:47:22 hantu /sbin/getty[379]: /dev/tty2: cannot open as standard input: No such device I am getting hundreds of these entries. It is a Sparc 5/85 running Debian 2.2. It has no keyboard (which is why I am getting them I think) and no monitor connected and I communicate to it using SSH. Was it resolved or was hack suggested to stop this happening? Thanks in advance, Chris
