I'm guessing it's only 16-bit.  The problem doesn't occur in Red Hat's
server. I tried one possibly fix, but it didn't help.  It will be a
while before I can seriously look at (i.e. do a diff against Red Hat's
code and carefully look at all of the differences).  I suspect the
problem is related to the fbdev patches.

I have to pay some attention to starting my research, so it will be a
while before I can take a look at the problem.
