Just to be sure, you want a 52kb executable split out because you don't want
it around, while still pulling in several megabytes of other things?

I would be quite happy if you cut off several megabytes of dependencies. Currently, Aptitude promises to free 203 MB of disk space if I remove KCachegrind. That's far too many dependencies for a single program if you ask me, even if it is meant for a particular desktop environment.
