Package: kdm Version: 4:4.2.4-1+b1 Severity: important Today is a bad day. First dbus made the whole sstems unresponsive due to a bug in debhelper leading to install most dbus binaries using /debian/tmp as root. Fixed it by copying manually by hand. then restarted. Got kdm again. But loggin lead to a black screen with nothing doable from keyboard or mouse. No error from X. Got this on two diffrenet machines today using different display drivers. Here is what I updated today. I have no clue what broke. It is not a X problem. If from kdm, I switch to console, log as root, stop kdm, log on another console as a normal user and start x usin startx evything works. If from another machine I log in, restart kdm, I get the login screen again. If I stop it agian, my console are gone. I see things from consolekit but really have no clue. Here are the today package that are likely to be the culprit!!!! binutils_2.19.51.20090714-1_amd64.deb libdbus-1-dev_1.2.16-1_amd64.deb binutils-doc_2.19.51.20090714-1_all.deb libgconf2-4_2.26.2-3_amd64.deb cdbs_0.4.58_all.deb libgeoip1_1.4.6.dfsg-6_amd64.deb consolekit_0.3.0-3_amd64.deb libncurses5_5.7+20090613-1_amd64.deb cpp-4.3_4.3.3-14_amd64.deb libncurses5-dev_5.7+20090613-1_amd64.deb cutecom_0.22.0-1_amd64.deb libncursesw5_5.7+20090613-1_amd64.deb dbus_1.2.16-1_amd64.deb libpam-ck-connector_0.3.0-3_amd64.deb dbus-x11_1.2.16-1_amd64.deb libpangomm-1.4-1_2.24.0-3_amd64.deb debhelper_7.2.22_all.deb libquicktime1_3%3a1.1.3-0.0_amd64.deb debhelper_7.2.24_all.deb libserf-0-0_0.3.0-0.2_amd64.deb dhcp3-client_3.1.2p1-1_amd64.deb libsmi2ldbl_0.4.8+dfsg-1_amd64.deb dhcp3-common_3.1.2p1-1_amd64.deb libstdc++6-4.3-dev_4.3.3-14_amd64.deb exuberant-ctags_1%3a5.8-1_amd64.deb libsvn1_1.6.3dfsg-1_amd64.deb g++-4.3_4.3.3-14_amd64.deb libsvn-perl_1.6.3dfsg-1_amd64.deb gcc-4.3_4.3.3-14_amd64.deb lock gcc-4.3-base_4.3.3-14_amd64.deb ncurses-bin_5.7+20090613-1_amd64.deb gconf2_2.26.2-3_amd64.deb partial gconf2-common_2.26.2-3_all.deb subversion_1.6.3dfsg-1_amd64.deb geoip-database_1.4.6.dfsg-6_all.deb sudo_1.7.2-1_amd64.deb libc-ares2_1.6.0-2_amd64.deb wireshark_1.2.0-1_amd64.deb libck-connector0_0.3.0-3_amd64.deb wireshark-common_1.2.0-1_amd64.deb libdbus-1-3_1.2.16-1_amd64.deb -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.31-rc3 (SMP w/2 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages kdm depends on: ii consolekit 0.3.0-3 framework for defining and trackin ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.27 Debian configuration management sy ii kdebase-runtime 4:4.2.4-2 runtime components from the offici ii kdebase-workspace-kgreet-pl 4:4.2.4-1+b1 KDE greet libraries for authentica ii kdelibs5 4:4.2.4-1 core libraries for all KDE 4 appli ii libc6 2.9-20 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libck-connector0 0.3.0-3 ConsoleKit libraries ii libdbus-1-3 1.2.16-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libpam0g 1.0.1-9 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libqimageblitz4 1:0.0.4-4 QImageBlitz image effects library ii libqt4-qt3support 4:4.5.2-1 Qt 3 compatibility library for Qt ii libqt4-svg 4:4.5.2-1 Qt 4 SVG module ii libqt4-xml 4:4.5.2-1 Qt 4 XML module ii libqtcore4 4:4.5.2-1 Qt 4 core module ii libqtgui4 4:4.5.2-1 Qt 4 GUI module ii libstdc++6 4.4.0-10 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library ii libxau6 1:1.0.4-2 X11 authorisation library ii libxdmcp6 1:1.0.2-3 X11 Display Manager Control Protoc ii libxtst6 2:1.0.3-1 X11 Testing -- Resource extension ii lsb-base 3.2-22 Linux Standard Base 3.2 init scrip Versions of packages kdm recommends: ii fvwm [x-window-manager] 1:2.5.27.ds-10 F(?)
