Bug#532306: kdebase-workspace: Screen corruption in VNC sessions

Package: kdebase-workspace
Version: 4:4.2.2-2
Severity: important

When KDE4 is started in a VNC session, parts of the screen are seriously corrupt.

Please see the attached screenshot. It shows a KDE4 session running a VNC viewer connected to a VNC session running as the same user on the same machine. In the VNC session, the task list doesn't show program names, the pager is unusable, and other icons in the tray are missing or ugly. In the outer (local, non-VNC) session, these problems don't appear.

I've tried two different VNC servers; results are identical.

This problem did not occur with KDE3.
