Bug#523468: [kdebase] powerdevil configuration module does not automatically start
Package: kdebase
Version: 4:4.2.2-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
When I open the powerdevil configuration module
(systemsettings->advanced->power management) after KDE first starts I get an
error containing:
"
The configuration module cannot be started...
Another power manager has been detected.
"
(This also happened in kde 4.2.1 UNTIL powersaved no longer was started at
boot. In other words I was able to start the module in 4.2.1 consistently
after turning off powersaved.)
This module does open successfully if I first start/stop dbus
(/etc/init.d/dbus stop; /etc/init.d/dbus start). Then close and reopen
systemsettings. Then open "power management".
To me it looks like some kind of dbus access problem, but I don't know much
about that. Let me know how to proceed and I'll give it a shot.
Thanks!
C.
