Agreed. Kmail is in a state of flux going to KDE4 so I will wait for a 
recurrence when this is released.

More information regarding logcheck: The problem did not recur today. The 
first time it did happen was after the system was not used for a week and 
there was no internet connection. The second time was when the internet 
connection was installed and reboot. I do not know if this be relevant but I 
know one gets a string of log entries from spamd, pptp, etc., trying 
non-existant connections. But ... 18 meg?
