Enabling the option to synchronize with APM results in hanging Linux on a
SMP machine. APM switched off on command-line to linux kernel, because APM
and APIC is not SMP safe. Machine switches off the monitor and you have no
possibility to wake up the machine again, Reboot by Power-button necessary.

Hi,

I just checked it in my system with ETCH on it, switching on the APM function
is now functional and doesn't hang the machine any more.

In my opinion you can close the bug.
