We package umbrello inside the kdesdk module from the KDE releases. So
umbrello will be updated in the next release of KDE 3.5.7

Well for me that means that umbrello should not be a package by itself if fixes cannot be independently applied!!!

Get the patch for 1.5.6 -> 1.5.61 and apply it and rebuild umbrello and not just wait until 3.5.7 is released (BTW when?).  Can do it myslef but why the hell filling  bug reports to get answer like this one!

Try to build a single dynamic diagram and see if you manage...
