Bug#415743: Problem updating or recreating a theme
Package: kcontrol
Version: 3.5.5a.dfsg.1-6
I am noticing some problems with the theme manager and the way themes
get created and updated.
1. I am not sure what the buttons at the bottom of Appearance and Themes
-> Theme Manager -> Customize your theme are supposed to do. If for
example I am using a theme called "theme A" and I change the font
settings, then press the "Fonts" button, should not the font settings in
"theme A" get updated? They do not however. If I select another theme
and then "theme A" again the fonts revert back to what they originally
were. The new font settings are lost.
2. There is a similar problem with the background image. I create a
theme using a non-standard background image (e.g. a file in my ~ instead
of one from /usr/share/wallpapers). Say this is "theme B". I then
click "Remove Theme" to remove theme B while it is applied. I then
click "Create New Theme". It appears that the background was saved with
the theme, but when I apply theme B the background setting is lost.
In order to get the background image to save with the theme, I must
re-select it via Appearance and Themes -> Background. In other words, a
previously applied custom background will not get properly saved with a
newly created theme if that theme was created from another theme, but
will only get saved if the background was manually applied previous to
creating the theme.
