Package: kdebase
Version: 4:3.2.2-1
Severity: normal
File: kde

On several occasions I've lined up the icons on my desktop by
RMB-Click/Icons/Lineup horizontally then
RMB-Click/Icons/Lineup vertically.

The first step is necessary as without it the icons don't move on the
second.

This creates a formation that I find acceptable.

However, when another iconn is created by
a) Inserting a CD
b) Inserting a floppy
c) Mounting something
e) Copying a file to the desktop
f) Probably more ways:-)

The icons automatically rearrange themselves into a disagreable
formation.

I think the best thing is to create the new Icon outside the arranged
area: it's likely to be something the user wants to deal with
immediately, and this would make it easier to find. At the moment the
icons cover about half my 1600x1200 screen.

After rearranging as I said above I must do, the icons are in a smaller
area comprising three columns leaving enough room for two xterm windows
(80x68).
