Package: konsole Version: 4:3.1.3-1 Severity: normal For a long time, I don't remember exactly, some characters are eaten when displayed on konsole. It doesn't happen on other terminal emulators (xterm, rxvt). It does happen on ordinary user: $ locale LANG=pl_PL LC_CTYPE="pl_PL" LC_NUMERIC="pl_PL" LC_TIME="pl_PL" LC_COLLATE="pl_PL" LC_MONETARY="pl_PL" LC_MESSAGES="pl_PL" LC_PAPER="pl_PL" LC_NAME="pl_PL" LC_ADDRESS="pl_PL" LC_TELEPHONE="pl_PL" LC_MEASUREMENT="pl_PL" LC_IDENTIFICATION="pl_PL" LC_ALL=pl_PL and root: $ locale LANG=POSIX LC_CTYPE="POSIX" LC_NUMERIC="POSIX" LC_TIME="POSIX" LC_COLLATE="POSIX" LC_MONETARY="POSIX" LC_MESSAGES="POSIX" LC_PAPER="POSIX" LC_NAME="POSIX" LC_ADDRESS="POSIX" LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX" LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX" LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX" LC_ALL= Output looks like: carramba 1531 0.0 0.3 3192 1676 pts/2 S 17:39 0:00 /bin/bash carramba 1534 0.0 0.3 3808 2012 pts/2 S 17:39 0:06 mc carramba 1536 0.0 0.3 3208 1724 pts/3 S 17:39 0:00 bash -rcfile .bashrc carramba 1539 3.5 8.2 62100 42748 ? Z 17:40 0:00 [netstat] <defunct> Look at line with process 1550. Whole line is not displayed, time, process name and newline are eaten. For both users there are the same $TERM settings: $ set | grep TERM COLORTERM= TERM=xterm In xterm there is no COLORTERM setting, in rxvt both settings are "rxvt". It doesn't happen always, but very often. To test that, I press cursor up (history) and enter several times. My shell is bash. <Suggestion> Maybe one of buffers is set to empty before another line is to be written? Version: 4:3.5.5-1 Hi! No information from submitter in 4 weeks. Closing bug. If they still occur, please send a mail to control@bugs.debian.org where the first line of the mail is "found nnn version" where nnn is the bug number and version is the version you have found the bug in. Please also write a mail to nnn@bugs.debian.org explaining exactly how to reproduce. /Sune -- Man, how may I do for configuring a provider? You neither should ever enable a editor, nor ever need to telnet to the GUI to log in the serial port to the parallel editor.Attachment: pgpkcBPBfLbu1.pgp
