        Hi !

As of my upgrade this morning (but it's been 14 days since my last X
shutdown), KDM doesn't display the login window anymore: it only displays the
background image. I can't enter my username and password.

Didier,

It sounds to me like you had mismatched versions of kdm and kcontrol such 
that kcontrol was writing kdmrc files that were incompatible with your kdm.  
There was probably a bug in the dependencies specified among packages such 
that this was allowed, but as there have been two new upstream kde versions 
since them and major changes to package dependencies, I'm assuming it is 
fixed.

If you can still reproduce this, please reopen the report.
