Bug#389437: KPresenter crashes when trying to open the file flyermall.pps (note: that's .pps, not .ppt)

Package: kpresenter
Version: 1:1.5.2-2

KPresenter crashes when trying to open the file
http://www.flyermall.com/doc/flyermall.pps which has the extension
.pps instead of the usual extension .ppt. PPS stands for PowerPoint
Slide Show.

(Should I have attached the .pps file to this bug? It's freely downloadable.)

About .pps files: I assume these files are created by some option with
a name like File > Save as Slide Show in Microsoft PowerPoint. In
Windows, when you double-click a .pps file and you have PowerPoint
installed, you see a full-screen slide show right away. When you click
the mouse, the show advances one slide. I do not know if it is
possible to edit .pps files by using File -> Open in PowerPoint but I
can check for you.

My prior experiences: I tried catppt(1) on this file twice. The first
time it failed. The second time it displayed part of this file. I also
tried ppthtml(1) and it seems to have displayed the whole file. I will
try OpenOffice next.

NOTE: I do not know if KPresenter crashes on other .pps files. I
haven't tried. To find more, visit:

Console output:

I am using Debian Testing. My last dist-upgrade was I think 3 months
ago. I have installed a fair bit of software since. I installed
KPresenter today.
