  Obviously, sid (and pulling from experimental only the strictly needed
  dependencies).

  Of course. What did you expect? (temporarily adding etch to your
  sources.list will help). Still, I don't see what recompiling packages
  in experimental can do to improve this situation; in fact, it would
  make things _worse_.
