Bug#263449: kdm: problem still persists

Hi all

Just installed Agnula/DeMuDi (a Sarge derivative) on my desktop, and set up
gdm with XDMCP enabled. I was able to make remote logins from my laptop (then
running Mandrake 9.2/10.0 hybrid with kdm 3.2-79mdk). So far so good. Then I
wiped my laptop and installed Debian Stable. With gdm, I can remote-login no
problem. But when I switched to kdm (on the laptop/client, desktop still uses
gdm) then remote login no longer works. Paying attention to the above
comments I removed the "-nolisten tcp" from /etc/kde3/kdm/Xservers and it all
works again!

If it helps I could supply more info on this. This bug should definately have
been *at least* documented before making it into Debian Stable; I spent
several hours of googling to find a solution, purging and reinstalling
packages, etc. After narrowing down the problem to kdm (seeing that gdm
worked fine) I decided to check this bug page.

THANKS Ben for the tip!!
