To solve my problem I created /etc/X11/Xsession.d/95source-profile which contains only the following line : source $HOME/.profile I noticed that /etc/X11/Xsession executes .Xsession or .xsession but does not source it, hence the env vars problem. I really coudn't find a place where to put the user environment so as to have kdm source it, and I spent some time on this. It is especially annoying for gtk apps or when you try to define a per-user JAVA_HOME for intance. Maybe the right thing to do is to put a script in .kde/Autostart ? -- +--------------------------------------------------------+ | David Morel <david.morel@amakuru.net> | | OpenPGP public key : http://www.amakuru.net/dmorel.asc | +--------------------------------------------------------+
