Bug#296255: konqueror: Drag and drop of file to Thunderbird is broken
reassign 296255 mozilla-thunderbird
stop here
(Hi Alexander, we received this bug against konqueror, but it seems to
me that Thunderbird is at fault here. Please reassign back if my
reasoning below is bogus.)

Let's see. When I drag a file (e.g., an image) from Konqueror to the
Compose window of Thunderbird, two things can happen:
(a) that I drop it in the textarea, in which case the URL of the
file is pasted (what you experience).
(b) that I drop it in the upper half of the window. Just by having
the dragged file hover there, the Attachments entry list
appears, and when I drop it the file gets added to there.
However, when _sending_ such message, Thunderbird spits out the
following: "There was a problem including the file <name> in the
message. Would you like to continue sending the message without this
file?"
The strange thing is that if I right click in the file in the
Attachments list, and I select 'Open', the file is opened correctly,
which leads to think that Thunderbird has the right URL.
I am a little puzzled by all this, any insight welcome.
Thanks,
