Hello,

this bug has been confirmed by users in the debian-kde mailing list.

First, do

  apt-get install ttf-xfree86-nonfree

This installs the luxi mono fonts, among others.

The problem is that KDE has stopped recognizing the luxi mono font as a
monospaced font. To verify, go to
   kde-control-panel -> appearance&themes -> fonts -> fixed-width
Luxi mono does not appear in the list.

On the other hand, KDE _does_ recognize Luxi mono as a variable-width
font: in
   kde-control-panel-> appearance&themes-> fonts -> general
I _can_ see luxi mono.

Therefore, I cannot use that on the terminal anymore. too bad, because
on a 1400x1050 desktop luxi mono was the only decent font (the other
ones are too thin and xfonts-konsole is too small).

I am sure I used luxi mono in konsole in the past, so something must
have happened to some kde setting.

Hello,

This bug is being closed because of its age and the vanishingly small
chance that it is still relevant to the current KDE packages, as it was
clearly since fixed, a random unreproducible bug that never had enough of
a follow-up to be useful, or else was forwarded upstream, where it was
marked fixed some time ago.

In case I'm mistaken, please do re-open the bug report in question, and
explain how the report is still relevant.

Thanks,
Christopher Martin
