Sorry for filing this here, I am not acquainted with kde, so I don't
know the appropriate subpackage...

Anyhow, tagging this upstream...

Problem is when you configure automatic desktop icons for unmounted
CD-ROM etc. devices, clicking on the device mounts it automatically
with options noexec, nodev, nosuid -- this is *very* nice actually,
but at times it is a problem, when the user wants to legitimally run
an executable from a CD-ROM.

It would be nice to have a feature to allow the overriding of the
noexec option on a per-case basis.

Thanks,

well, I sincerely hope that you already figured out the issue, since
the response time for this bug hasn't been, er, exemplary. ;-)

issue is that clicking on the device mounts it without privileges, so
options specified in /etc/fstab. which, as it contains the 'user'
option, include noexec unless stated otherwise. from mount.8:

user Allow an ordinary user to mount the file system. The
name of the mounting user is written to mtab so that he
can unmount the file system again. This option implies
the options noexec, nosuid, and nodev (unless overridden
by subsequent options, as in the option line
          user,exec,dev,suid).

the fix to this bug is 'user, exec' in your /etc/fstab, so I'm closing
  the bug.

  thanks,
