I created updated meta-packages some time ago, available at
http://chrsmrtn.freeshell.org/kde. They address this issue, amongst
others. Comments welcome!
These packages were mentioned on the list, but Chris Cheney didn't
respond, so I hesitated to do an NMU (and I'm not even certain that my
sponsor approves of non-DD NMUs, but I guess we'll see).
They're a few weeks old at this point as well, so I'll probably want to
look at them once again before they're uploaded, but if any DD involved
with KDE wishes to help, or even just give the green light, let me know.
