Bug#239083: Strange
package kdeprint
tags 239083 +unreproducible
thanks
The kdeprint_lpd plugin was disabled from compilation two years ago:
revision 1.48. From cvs log Makefile.am in kdelibs/kdeprint:
date: 2002/01/26 17:14:39; author: goffioul; state: Exp; lines: +1 -1
- added a spooler type selection widget in config dialog
- disabled the old "lpd" plugin in the compilation process
in favour of this new "lpr" plugin. Why?
. provides job management support
. support LPRng as well as LPR
. old "lpd" plugin only provides some basic printer
management feature for RH-printtool (== outdated)
. cannot be worse than the old "lpd" plugin :-)
I don't understand why or where it would still be used.
cheers
