Package: icecast
Hi
I've recently installed the icecast server, and I've used "shout" to
cast mp3 files, listening with winamp on my NT box. I've encountered
two problems:
1) icecast hangs - it goes into a loop, sucking all CPU it can, and no
output is produced. Seems to happen when a shout session is done, and
I run it again to cast more files.
2) there are audible delays in the sound - I've tried to up the
buffer, but I'm not sure it helps. I'll try some more.
Okay, three problems:
3) no man page
And while I'm at it,
4) I need to press Play again after I've run a new shout command.
I.e. I can run shout with a bunch of files, and they'll all play in
sequence, but if I run a new shout after a period of silence, winamp
(at least) doesn't pick it up.
Four problems it is. The worst are 1) and 2), I can probably produce
a core and backtrace for 1), and it is possible slow disk or similar
is the cause of 2) (although it doesn't seem to bog down anything,
and load is otherwise light on my (PPro180 w/ plenty RAM) server)
