Package: libtool1.4
Severity: wishlist

Is there any reason for not having libtool1.4 Provide libtool (also,
libtool1.4-doc could provide libtool-doc, I suppose)? This would make
it easier for backporters; mysql-dfsg from testing/unstable requires a
version of libtool that's newer than what's in stable. However, various
packages conflict with libtool 1.5. In order to satisfy the mysql
build-dep, one must backport libtool1.4; however, since it doesn't
provide libtool, this makes other packages that require libtool unhappy.
The solution is to have libtool1.4 provide libtool. So, if there's no
reason not to do it, please consider adding the Provides.

libtool1.4 no longer has any reverse dependencies and has been removed
from Debian.
