Well, as no show stoppers popped up during the discussion, I requested a new project with subversion repository on alioth. Once the alioth admins have created it, we can start working.
In the meantime we can start to collect the people interested in having commit access. Those of you, who would like to contribute, but don't know what "alioth" is (or know what it is, but don't have an account) please register at
