misinformation and media presence

there has been some dicussion in debian-devel regarding a blurb in InfoWorld
that suggested an untrue relationship between Debian and Corel. i am posting
it here because it didn't really make sense in that forum:

it was suggested that debian folk's write articles in the linux publications
(and mainstream ones) to counteract the poor public understanding of what
Debian is.
