For my part, I prefer to do that sort of thing off-channel. People get
overly fond of themselves when you publically support them against
somebody else. The exception is when I'm about to dispose of them,
since there's little point hiding that and it's less typing.

In this particular case, I probably wouldn't have kicked the ubuntu
freak out that quickly, but that's just a matter of personal
approach... I prefer to let them run on a bit longer to see if people
can shake some sense into them. Or I'm just more patient.

No way was it on-topic. Offtopic stuff is tolerated so long as it's
harmless, amusing, or not getting in the way; otherwise not. I don't
have any serious objections to this one.
