Aha, thank you for the info. I am a little confused by what you said
however. You mention release candidate 4, but will this contain the
support I am after or is this the work you did for analog sound? If
so, when do you think the support for standard G5 sound will be
available?

I do not know much about the development cycle of ALSA, but if the
support is available in RC4 - how long before this is available via
the standard unstable/testing repositories?
