pbbcmd config onac_timedim 0
pbbcmd config onbattery_timedim 0
will disable display dimming until next reboot.
pbbcmd query onac_timedim
will give current settings. With this tools it should be easy to built a script that
disable dimming before watching a video and restore the settings afterwards.

PS: Don't forget to enable 'cpulock' to prevent pbbuttonsd from going to sleep.
