Mmm, could the fix be backported, i will have to look into this. I had a
patch for this back in the time when doing boot-floppies work with a
devfs enabled 2.4 kernel, but i fear it will break when mounted with
devfs=mount by d-i.

It is only used for the install, hopefully sarge+1 d-i will not need it.
