Firewire card suported by Linux?
Dear all,
I'd like to get a Firewire card for use with Linux
(specifically, to connect my iPod to my x86 Desktop, for
chaging its song list and using it as a method for backups).
But the problem is that I don't know which card I could
purchase for my x86 computer that has good support with Open
Source drivers and that can carry power to the iPod (for
charging the battery).
Surfing http://www.linux1394.org/cgi-bin/hcl.cgi?class_id=2
still leaves me questions on what to get or not. I would like
to stress that I don't care much for performance as I care for
compatibility with Linux and price. :-)
So, I would be grateful if anybody could help me with
recommendations on which cards to get and which ones to avoid.
Thank you very much for any help, Roger...
P.S.: Please Cc: me on replies, as I'm only subscribed to d-powerpc.
