HD sleep timeout
Hi,
I recently put a box to run as a mail gateway, so it has to run all
day long. Unfortunately, I'm not able to let the hard disk go to sleep
(or maybe It does, but I don't notice).
What I tried is issuing 'hdparm -S <whatever> /dev/hda' and getting
read of some syslog entries but it doesn't seem to work well.
The drive goes to sleep (spins down) when forced with -Y, but restarts
about ten seconds later.
What am I missing ?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Simon
