This is due to an autobuilder problem; xchat-common is an architecture
independent and was probably uploaded together with i386 binaries and
the source, but the architecture dependent packages failed to build on
powerpc: http://buildd.debian.org/build.php?arch=powerpc&pkg=xchat

Fortunately, 1.8.12-2 has built fine and has been installed into the
archive.
