OK, pcmcia hangs his Powerbook with a kernel panic.
He doesn't know whether he should use tcic or i82365. When he doesn't
configure pcmcia the same happens on each restart - he only has the base
system installed.
(My console is not set up for iso-8859-1 so this is getting difficult)
He can manually mount the partition where Debian is installed (presumably
he is booting from the install floppy or something) so can alter the
config data.
