Yes, it just sat there trying to boot 2.2.17.

Using Adam Powell's 2.2.15 kernel
(http://lyre.mit.edu/~powell/debian-ppc-bugs.html) it boots just fine!

2.2.15 is fine with me. 

I'm still to figure out why 2.2.16+ won't boot?! I suppose it's just
broken.


Thank you everybody who has helped me getting this box up and running!
