Bullshit.  Until the apt line for a given package is:

deb [http|ftp]://[http|ftp|non-us].debian.org/debian[-non-US] [un]stable [non-us/]main

(that noise was regex walking away with it's head spinning :)

IT IS NOT AVAILABLE WITHIN DEBIAN.  Therefore it should not be used as a
reason not to do something within Debian.  Your other points are salient,
but vaporware is NOT a valid reason to prevent any action.
